Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

DATE: March 24 - 25; April 5 - 6; and April 21 - 22, 2022 from 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM (CST) each day

DESCRIPTION: This course is required as preparation for RNs seeking to practice as Faith Community Nurses

 (FCNs). It is based on the curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing which is owned by the Spiritual C

are Association of New York, NY. We have updated and enhanced this course to include Trauma-Informed care for FCNs to help you care for persons who have experienced psychological and/or spiritual trauma.

Our virtual classes plus five one-hour self-learning modules include these topics: Beginning Your Ministry; Prayer; Spiritual Care; Health Promotion; Legal and Ethical Issues; Documentation; Grief and Loss; Behavioral Health; Assessment; Transitional Care and several others.

38.25 contact hours for RNs. This course is jointly provided by FCNN and the Spiritual Care Association Nursing Division. The Spiritual Care Association Nursing Division is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. ANCC Provider Unit # P0623.

COST: $425 (plus the cost of the participant manual) Includes a virtual mentoring session 3 months after course completion. Need-based scholarships are available.
