The Importance of Prayer
Christy Secor RN, DNP, CDWF • NCF Professional Ministries Director
Sometimes our prayers fall out of our mouths as a litany of requests. There’s no time spent giving thanks to God for being who he is, no time spent listening. Sometimes our words can be rote. Sometimes our hearts ache so much we have no words at all.
Listen to your heart. Pay attention to your words as you sit with your heavenly Father. This week I felt burdened…like I was trying to walk through knee-deep mud. Have you ever felt that way? Continue reading Christy’s reflection and NCF’s prayer requests by clicking here.
Join with other nurses each Sunday for an hour of prayer at 7 pm Eastern / 6 pm Central / 5 pm Mountain / 4 pm Pacific. It’s a time of encouragement, openness, honesty, and being real. You are not alone! Email ncf@intervarsity.org to let us know your interest in participating and we’ll send the Zoom link.

Be Still Retreat Last Call
Nurse educators and nursing students -- As we transition from one semester to the next, let’s start by being still with God. Come to our first ever online national NCF student and faculty advisor retreat on Saturday, February 6th for a time of worship, small group processing, and individual reflection on the topic of being still! Please pass along the information to any student or faculty, they do not need to be a part of NCF currently. The cost for the 2.5 hour retreat is free!
Here is a direct link to register for the retreat.
Miss January Journal Club?
NCF members met to discuss the JCN article, Offering Culturally Congruent Christian Care on January 21. However, it’s not too late to get in on the lively discussion on emulating Christ and embracing the culture of others. View the recording and download handouts here (you’ll need to login for access). Then email ncf@intervarsity.org to get 1.5 contact hours for relicensure!
Special Event: Making All Things New
The challenges from the ongoing pandemic continue to stretch us, impacting every aspect of our lives. This past year has also provided opportunities to reflect on our priorities and look at our lives and profession from a different perspective…a perspective of hope and new beginnings.
Join the Twin Cities Minnesota Professional Nurse Group to discuss what it means to be “whole-minded” in our response to the stresses we are experiencing and how God works within us to make all things new, February 16th beginning at 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central / 6 pm Mountain / 5 pm Pacific. You must register for this free event. Please email ncf@intervarsity.org and the Zoom link will be sent to you.
