The school year has officially begun and we hope your NCF chapter has started meeting! How do you continue inviting others to come check out NCF? This issue of Campus Vitals will prepare you to do just that!
The Power of a Personal Invitation
At the beginning of the year, many NCF chapters set up info tables, hang posters, and utilize other publicity channels to get the word out. But, historically, the best way to recruit students to NCF is through a personal invitation. Take a moment to consider the students you might invite to NCF from your classes, clinical group, friends, etc. Then go and invite them to encounter Jesus through NCF! Watch this 3-minute video on how to invite others to NCF.
Checklist for Sign-Ups
If you hosted an info table, you probably have a list of students and faculty who signed up for NCF. Here is a short checklist to follow up effectively with them:
-
Have you sent a personal email/text to thank them for signing up and to ask if they have any questions?
-
Have you personally invited them to the first NCF meeting via email/text/call? (For the first meeting, a personal invite is especially important.)
-
Have you added them to an email/texting distribution list for reminders on the day of (or day before) NCF meetings?
Devotional: Seeing with God’s Eyes
In nursing, we are trained to see beyond the physical needs of the patient and recognize that they are whole beings in need of care. In the Bible, Paul encourages his readers to see other people through spiritual eyes—God’s eyes—and to respond accordingly. How can we learn to see others with God’s eyes? Take a few minutes to reflect on this devotional.
