Leadership

Select and Mentor New Leaders

Senior leaders: Now is the time to start training juniors as apprentices.

Mentoring • Pray for God to draw students to leadership roles that serve your chapter.
• Meet with students who have leadership potential. Encourage them to consider a leadership role.
• Have an interest meeting for potential leaders to ask questions. Describe the different roles needed.
• If you have a constitution with a leadership application, have potential leaders complete the application.
• Have the apprentices "shadow" a student leader, attend core leader meetings and give input on decisions.

Evangelism

Casting vision for your group

What do you want to see God do in your school of nursing this semester? Here are some ideas:

  • Use a "Pocket Proxe" as a conversation starter with other nursing students, such as Scars, Resolve, Hope or Extreme Heart Makeover themes. GIG

  • Lead a GIG Bible study for your clinical group or for a group of friends who are asking questions and want to learn more about a relationship with God.  GIG stands for "Groups Investigating God."  Try one of the easy-to-use NCF Bible studies or one of the online GIG guides.

  • Invite a speaker. Ask a nurse in your church or community to come and speak about how they integrate their faith with their nursing practice.  Use this as an opportunity to invite a friend or two who are not currently involved.

Discipleship
