"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13 NIV).
NATIONAL MINISTRY
Praise God for the appointment of Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner as the next NCF Director after Jane Hall retires June 30, 2016. Ask the Lord to prepare Kathy to lead NCF forward in seeing students and nurses transformed by the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. Pray also for God to provide a Student Ministries Director to expand NCF campus ministry.
Thank God for generous ministry partners who join in God’s work by contributing prayer and financial support to meet all staff and ministry expenses. Pray that God will provide all that is needed to meet our year-end expenses.
Thank God for 1500+ nurses and students who have joined NCF. Pray that NCF members will know God’s peaceful presence in the midst of challenging work or educational demands. Ask God to bring more members who can grow spiritually and professionally in NCF.
Praise God for the local NCF nurse chapters who are reaching out to their nurse peers and encouraging each other to know and follow Christ.
STUDENTS & FACULTY
Hundreds of nursing students will attend healthcare seminars at Urbana 15 and be challenged to serve God and advance his Kingdom through their vocation. Pray for Jane, Bonnie, Kathy, Robert and other NCF staff as they talk with students at seminars, gatherings, and the NCF exhibit.
Pray that our interactions with students at Urbana will produce much fruit on campus in 2016 through new and revitalized student chapters as nursing students intentionally share God’s love with others.
Pray with NCF staff Skip McDonald for a strong start to spring semester for the NCF groups at nursing schools in Georgia. Thank God for dedicated student leaders and faculty.
Thank God for what he is doing on Cal. State U. campuses. NCF at CSULB is officially recognized. The faculty advisors, Melissa and Wendy, and the student leader, Jackie, are bringing students together for Bible study and missional outreach on campus.
Praise God for the hundreds of InterVarsity staff who are welcoming pre-nursing and nursing students into their campus chapters and giving them sound spiritual foundations and leadership training.
Thank God for NCF staff Miriam, Krista, Skip and Rachel who also work in hospital positions. Ask God to give them excellent nursing supervisors who will help them manage their work schedules to allow time for ministry with students.
God is starting something new at many schools! Give thanks with NCF Staff Bonnie Hann, for students and faculty who have a vision for how NCF can make a difference at Gustavus Adolphus College (MN) and Johnson County Community College (KS).
PUBLICATIONS
Thank God for Journal of Christian Nursing and the biblical perspective it brings to nursing. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and disciplined time management for the editors, Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner and Cathy Walker, as they connect with authors and prepare the next issues of JCN.
