Program Distinctives
Huntington University’s nursing program distinctives include hands-on learning with high-fidelity simulation equipment, faith integration woven throughout the curriculum, and a proven track record of graduate outcomes - 100% job placement within six months of graduation and a strong first-time NCLEX pass rate. Students also complete a Role Transition experience, working alongside a preceptor to synthesize skills and gain confidence in practice often aligned with an area of professional interest. Beyond the clinical setting, students participate in service-learning opportunities that connect coursework to meaningful community impact. The program is further strengthened by passionate professors who bring real-world experience from the healthcare areas in which they teach, fostering mentorship, clinical reasoning, and professional formation throughout the curriculum.
Mission/Service-Learning Opportunities
Service learning is a cornerstone of the program, allowing students to live out compassionate, hands-on care beyond the classroom. Learners participate in mission experiences in Belize, where they serve alongside local partners while developing cultural and global health awareness. Closer to home, students engage in community-based initiatives that support individuals who are unhoused and families experiencing food insecurity, translating classroom knowledge into meaningful action. These experiences cultivate servant leadership, advocacy, and a deep commitment to meeting people where they are-physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
