Through innovative programs, APU’s expert nursing faculty serve as mentors and guides as you follow your calling in nursing. Opportunities for learning abound, from small classes to state-of-the-art simulation labs, from community health internships to study abroad nursing programs.
Whether you are a first-time freshman nursing student or a practicing nurse looking to advance your career, APU’s School of Nursing offers programs for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral nursing degrees available online, on campus, and at our regional campuses across Southern California.
Mission/Service Learning Opportunities
The high skill level and the in-depth knowledge of United States-educated nurses open doors to myriad possibilities for working and serving abroad. As healthcare organizations in developed and developing nations face a debilitating nursing-shortage crisis, APU nurses stand uniquely qualified to bridge the gap and elevate health care worldwide.
Azusa Pacific mobilizes nursing students to address global health issues, facilitate cultural sensitivity, and enrich the academic experience. The APU School of Nursing, known for preparing compassionate and morally reflective healthcare leaders and scholars who seek to improve the health and lives of all people, promotes, supports, and develops a variety of international and intercultural programs for nursing students with global aspirations.
Whether through short-term programs or full semesters overseas, our study-away programs allow students to observe and participate in healthcare organizations in very diverse circumstances, and thereby identify and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their personal and professional philosophies of health care. In the classroom and in professional life, these experiences provide tangible applications to academic discussions on the cultural, social, and political factors that impact the development of healthcare systems in this country and around the world.
