NCF Vision

I have a passion for nursing students to understand the importance of their relationship with Christ while in nursing school.  It is common to get wrapped up in the demands of nursing school and Christ often gets pushed to the back of the line, but ultimately each of our identities is found in the firm foundation of Christ.  NCF taught me what a privilege it is to be the hands and feet of Jesus as a nurse, but first and foremost I am a child of the King.  Nursing allows each of us to be a vessel for the Lord.  I want to instill the same purpose in current and future nursing students.

Nursing school is not an easy journey.  I remember going through several spiritual valleys, but God allowed me to learn lessons during those difficult times.  I want nursing students to know they serve an amazing God, and they can rejoice with Him on the mountaintops and seek Him when the mountains will not move.  Nursing is a beautiful career when one allows God to lead.  I pray that more nursing students can discover this foundation of Christ, so they can be a strong Christian nurse leaders upon graduation.  My desire is to help them along that kingdom-building journey.

Personal

I live in Winston-Salem, NC.  I have been a nurse since 2013 and have been involved with NCF since 2010.  I officially joined NCF volunteer staff in 2013 and am so grateful for the opportunity to give back to an organization that means so much to me and such a large part of my testimony.  Prior to becoming a nursing professor, I worked in several different areas of nursing such as cardiac intensive care, pediatrics, nursing management, and travel nursing.  I felt a call from the Lord to pursue a career shift to nursing education in 2018 and have loved every second of getting to watch students pursue and follow their dreams.  I am a huge sports fan and a loyal follower of the University of Tennessee.  My favorite sports are basketball, softball/baseball, and football.  I love traveling and going on new adventures.  My family, friends, and colleagues are a huge support system in my life, and I am so grateful for each of them.
