The Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI) World Congress in Malaga, Spain, this summer was significant. More than 300 nurses came together. It was thought-provoking. It was energizing and inspiring. I learned so much through the networking and sharing of faith stories of other Christian nurses from so many countries. God is at work! It was helpful to foster my own ability and training others in their ability to integrate their faith and practice with a BIG God at work across the whole world.
An example of what I learned was the Saline Process course. This training “equips healthcare workers to be witnesses for Christ in their clinical settings.” Instructors teach about using short snippets of your own life story in “faith flags.” The stories nurses shared from their own experiences from different cultures was very motivating to me to keep on living out my faith and sharing my faith in Jesus with others.
The conference helped me tremendously:
Other elements of the week included worship with believers from countries such as Spain, Zambia, Egypt, Uganda, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Great Britain, Ireland, Denmark, Canada, Mongolia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and more. Every day there was fellowship with others as we share meals together.
I am very grateful to have attended.
