NCF Discipleship Cycle

Use this model to Follow Jesus . . . into mission . . . as a community.

Hear the Word

Listening to the life-giving words of the Lord is the first step of an obedient disciple. As you study the Bible and learn to know God, your heart and mind will open up to his purposes in the world around you. Jesus wants you to follow him in nursing. He will invite you into a mission that will transform you and the people around you. Your NCF chapter can become an intentional witnessing community that attracts others to God's riches of love and compassion.

Actively Respond

It is not enough to just hear the Word -- we are called to obey it. What is Jesus asking you to do? How can you act on what you're learning from God's Word? Be creative in how you might extend the grace and truth of Jesus in your school of nursing.

Integrate and Interpret

After you hear God's Word and act on it, it's important to meet with others in your NCF community to talk about what you've learned or what you can do differently. As you pray together, try to discern where God is working and what he wants you to do next. Continue on the journey by hearing the Word for the next step in your mission on campus.

Use the Discipleship Cycle Worksheet as your guide for planning and evaluating so that your group will grow and nursing students will be transformed.
