DESCRIPTION: Throughout this past year, we’ve focused on the value and importance of caring for ourselves spiritually. As Nurses Christian Fellowship honors nurses during the month of May with their theme “Hope in the Darkness,” we join with them in reminding ourselves of the hope we have in relationship – relationship with God, our relationship with our colleagues, and our relationship with the individuals and communities where we work and serve. Every aspect of our lives can draw us towards deeper intimacy. We celebrate the hope and light that can never be extinguished and its influence in our daily lives and in our profession.
FREE 1.5 HOURS Nursing Continuing Professional Development (CE) for Minnesota nurses. Certificates of Attendance are available for nurses in other states.
Objectives:
- Compare the impact of the characteristics of light and hope in the difficult situations we encounter.

- Describe the wholistic impact of caring for ourselves spiritually.
- Discuss the importance and value of relationship to our overall well-being.
- Share personal examples of ways we have grown in relationship with God, our colleagues, and the individuals/communities we serve.
- Reflect on the ways we can be light to others.
- Commit ourselves to God’s call in our lives.

February 2022 NCF Twin Cities Webinar: Practicing as a Spiritually Healthy Nurse - Thriving Through Today’s Challenges
DESCRIPTION: Our profession is breaking…nurses are leaving the work they felt called to do in unheard-of numbers. Weariness and a sense of exhaustion are being felt in all parts of our being: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Nurses tell us they do not feel seen or heard. Many are experiencing a growing distance in their relationship with God. In these trying times, how do we begin to address our own spiritual needs? How do we support our colleagues from a more wholistic perspective? Come and experience renewed hope as we discover simple steps that can help us grow and develop who we are spiritually.

For the past 18 months of the pandemic, students, nursing faculty and nurses have experienced tremendous isolation, stress, and trauma. The challenges we face physically, emotionally, and spiritually continue. How do we better care for ourselves and for each other? In this webinar, you’ll receive open, honest conversation and practical tools to strengthen and encourage you in the work you do. We’ll also explore how our connection to each other and our faith can provide much-needed support and presence.
