Passing the Baton of Leadership

When runners pass the baton, they want to do it well so that no time is lost. To pass the baton well, they receive coaching and practice and know and appreciate each other's skills. Leadership succession is the same for us in NCF student ministry. It is not enough to run the race; we must also pass our vision and mission to the next generation. For almost 20 years, one thing has been ingrained into me to ensure the longevity of ministry - a strong leadership pipeline. The leadership pipeline is developing leaders and apprentices to hand off the baton of leadership. Jesus did this, Paul (a leader in the church) did this, and we must do it as well.  There is time this semester to develop and train new leaders for next year. Check out this five-week training guide to develop new leaders for next semester. You can use the principles with any Bible study or NCF program. Spring Survey — Due April 15th

Thank you for serving students on your campus! Our groups are asked to complete a survey twice a year, so we know how to help you best and collect the information we need as an organization. The Spring Survey is a snapshot of the whole year, so please include the fall semester in your numbers. We know God is working in each of the students in our groups; this is a way to capture God’s work! NOTE: It would be helpful to have your student leaders' and graduating seniors' names and emails on hand before you begin the survey. Thanks in advance for completing it. Please fill out this form before April 15th. (See a gift for you at the end of the form!). Email Jen if you have any questions.

NCF Journal Club with Student Meet and Greet

Join NCF for Journal Club - 2000 Years of Clinical Trials: The Evolution of Evidence-Based Practice Thursday, April 27, 2023, 7:00 - 8:30 pm Central. And introducing our NEW Nursing Student Meet UP!! Jump on early at 6:30 - 7:00 pm Central. Come together online to create student connections, find relationships, share your story, and receive encouragement. We will meet for 30 minutes before Journal Club. All students are welcome for this students only time of sharing. NOTE: You do not need to attend Journal Club to join the Meet UP, but you must register. We are looking forward to seeing you!

New Video Resources

Are you looking for videos to show at your NCF meetings? Check out our new video resources on Vimeo! For example, you can show this video on having a Healthy Perspective for Clinicals. Join NCF staff and practicing nurses via video as they discuss how to thrive during clinical rotations.

  • This summer, we will run a 4-week discipleship cohort online. Meet with NCF staff and nursing students nationwide on zoom. In addition, we will go through the NEW NCF Discipleship Material. It will be an excellent way to develop as a leader and prepare to disciple others in the fall! If you are interested, fill out this form. 
  • NCF Mentorship: Did you know NCF has a mentor program for new grads? Connect with a mentor and 1-2 recent grads monthly to walk through life as a first-year nurse together. Mentorship is part of our professional membership; we offer all recent grads the ability to join the NCF professional community at a $35/year student price. Click here to join. We have scholarships available to offset the membership price; please email Jen at jen.wojtysiak@intervarsity.org and let her know if you need a scholarship. After that, complete a brief questionnaire by clicking here.
