Vital Signs

KathyFrom the NCF Director

Dear Leaders: My heart is full of appreciation for your willingness to lead a local NCF group! You provide a welcoming space for nurses in your area to connect and be spiritually encouraged in the work God has for them. I’ve been encouraged recently by Romans 12 and the reminder to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to God. The Message reads, “God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.”

When you organize an NCF meeting, YOU are a living sacrifice! Romans 12 relays how we are like parts of a human body, each of us finding our meaning from the whole as we serve others. When you lead your NCF group, you are the body of Christ caring for other nurses! You are loving and honoring others above yourself as you take the time and energy to make NCF happen in your city (Romans 12:9-10).

Thanks for all you do to advance God’s work through NCF ministry. Know that I pray for you daily. Email me with specific ways I can pray for you and your group!

National Nurses WeekNational Nurses Week is Coming!

It’s not too early for your group to start planning how to reach out to others in the nursing community during Nurses Week. This year’s theme is Nurses Inspire, Innovate, Influence. We have prepared special resources, ideas, and prayer guides for planning and promoting a variety of events. Check out the Bible-based discussion on the theme. This is a great opportunity to affirm your coworkers, pray for them, and invite them to see how the Bible applies to nursing.

East TexasFinding Rest in East Texas

Sometimes nurses need a break—a real break that refreshes the body and the soul. Recently nurses, educators, and students gathered for a weekend to rest, reflect and get refreshed in Christ. Their connections bore fruit.

CanaNCF Summer Conference

Plan now to connect with other nurses by attending an inspirational summer conference, Infusing Hope in Nursing: A Christian Perspective. Don’t miss this opportunity to refresh your hope and your ability to bring the hope of Christ to others!  Join other NCF nurses for the NCFI CANA conference July 19-22, 2018, in Azusa, California. The cost is low and the benefits will be high!

selfcareDo You Care for Yourself?

As nurses, we care for others with compassion but we often don't take care of ourselves. If you give so much to others that there is nothing left for you, it might be time for a change. Here are 6 tips for self-care from the NCF Nurses Blog.
