Summertime Surrender

Katharine Provost, BS, MA • NCF National Campus Staff Minister

Whether you are an educator or student, summer is a great time to shake off the past year and prepare for the next. As I reflect on re-setting I see  the biblical image of surrender being critical to renewal and preparing for the next season. Romans 12:1-2 tells us: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. As we surrender our experiences and allow God to frame the past in His plan, we can more easily see how He will guide us into the next season. What do you need to surrender in order to renew as you prepare for the fall? What resources do you have or need to help you with this?

If you could use some help (to do alone or with others), consider “The Celtic Way for Faculty” that starts June 24th.As our thank you to NCF faculty, use the code “Nurse” to sign up at no charge and state you are “NCF Faculty.” We have an NCF Faculty member leading optional group processing times, providing a place for you to connect with other NCF educators. Please email  katharine.provost@intervarsity.org if I can help with other ideas or resources.

How to Do NSO

Looking for more ideas to reach students this fall? Look no further!

Funding Available for Outreach

Would you love to be able to make a big splash on campus this fall to draw new students to NCF? Food, donut wall, goodie bags, ice cream socials, activities, and swag are great ways to catch the attention of students but these cost money, right? Send us your plan and request up to $250 in outreach funding! Need some fresh ideas? We can help! Email katharine.provost@intervarsity.org.

THRIVE: Getting Ready For Nursing School

This national online event on June 26th at 11am EST is for incoming nursing students to process concerns together, worship, and be encouraged by student and faculty speakers. We would love your help in reaching as many students as possible: please share this link with info and registration to as many nursing students as you are able, especially incoming students! We also ask you to join us in praying that this event is a meaningful time that will bring students closer to God and into NCF chapters where they can continue to grow their faith. Pray that we reach students who do not yet have a chapter on their campus, as well as those that do, so that we can connect them with NCF community. Click here for more information or to register.

Monthly National Gathering

NCF is hosting a five gathering series for incoming nursing students and nursing students not connected to a local NCF or InterVarsity group. We’ll meet monthly from July to November to explore passages in the New Testament that highlight Jesus as our ultimate caregiver. If you know of any nursing students who are not already connected with a group, we’d love them to join us! Register here.
