Prayer: Seeing with the Heart

Do you pray with hope and expectation? Do you ask to see with the “eyes of your heart” the inheritance and power you have as a son or daughter of God? Paul the apostle prompts you and me to pray expectantly: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe” (Ephesians 1: 18-19).

NCF is dependent on prayer and God’s answers to our prayers. It’s one way this professional nursing organization is unique—it’s also a ministry. We’ve seen and praised God recently for answering prayers in a mighty way! For example:

  • A new professional nurse group is forming in the Greater Boston area--the first NCF group in Massachusetts! And we just heard that another group is beginning in Worcester, Massachusetts! We are so incredibly grateful for these two new groups.
  • Conversations about beginning professional nurse groups are happening among nurses in La Crosse, Wisconsin; Rochester, Minnesota; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Cleveland, Ohio. God is moving in the hearts of nurses across the country.
  • In Fresno, California, outreach for a new student nurse group is being explored.
  • God is taking nursing students to deeper places in their faith as they participate in InterVarsity conferences and training events.

God is active. He’s bringing life and hope as a result of prayer—ours and yours. You can join in this prayer effort to establish and advance witnessing communities of nursing students and nurses who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord by remembering the ministry needs of NCF through the monthly prayer calendar. We’ve also made it more useful--now you can download and print or share it. Please give it try!

Also know that NCF is privileged to pray for you. We welcome you to share your prayer concern here; a team of nurses across the United States will pray for you in both your personal and your professional needs.

Thank you for praying for NCF!
