I love working with students in my role as InterVarsity staff at Bloomsburg University (PA). This fall, our student leaders have fostered a consistent theme: "the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few" (Luke 10:2). Their conversations reflect their enthusiasm for God's work as they lead their peers on campus.
One nursing student in particular, Lizzie, has taken this to heart as she has pressed into ministry within the nursing community at Bloomsburg. In the first week of classes, Lizzie realized that reconnecting with returning students and meeting new freshmen was too much to do on her own. Instead of self-sufficiency, Lizzie chose to follow Jesus' model of inviting others to partner with him in ministry.
So Lizzie invited
Alex, a sophomore nursing student, to welcome the new nursing students to campus.
Alex said yes -- and she walked away from that conversation wanting more involvement! With some encouragement and mentoring from Lizzie, Alex is now regularly leading a faith discussion dinner group every week in the nursing community on campus. They are using the
What's Vital? Bible studies from Nurses Christian Fellowship. As the discussion group grows, Alex's faith is also growing. Alex's excitement in partnering with Lizzie causes Lizzie's faith to grow as well!

Praise God for sending more workers into the harvest field, and praise Him for the ways students are responding to His call in their lives!
