Amazing and worshipful are two expressions that nursing students, faculty, and participants used to describe the NCF-hosted 9/11 Night of Worship and Prayer event at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida recently. This student-led gathering used prayer and worship to honor the lives that were lost and sacrificed. NCF faculty advisor Kathy McKinnon said the group of 250+ attendees particularly honored first responders and PBAU campus security. Chief Ellis, a retired member of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, shared his experience as chief and the impact 9/11 had on his life and those of fellow firefighters.
“This event provided the opportunity for all students and faculty to pin a prayer request on the Wall of Prayer – whether they were about personal situations, praises, and even prayers for the families in the Bahamas, McKinnon said..” In addition to praying for families impacted by Hurricane Dorian, we had the opportunity to partner with PBA Worship to collect and donate medical supplies, money, clothes and more that were sent to the Bahamas by the end of that week.”
"We’re praising the Lord for the Night of Worship and Prayer at Palm Beach Atlantic University,” said Jen Wojtysiak, NCF Student Ministries Director. “What a way to engage the campus and make space for processing and reflecting over a tragedy.”
