In the midst of healthcare changes, we need a present help. This life is feeble and fragile. Anything can go wrong, oh so easily. As Christian nurses, our hope lies in Jesus Christ alone. He gives us hope for those we serve.
Jesus is a present help. We don't know what the future holds, but God knows. We celebrate the fact that he knows all things as we seek to give great nursing care. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1).
The next time you feel troubled, fearful or overwhelmed, call upon the name of the Lord, your ever-present help. He is only a prayer away.
