JCN Wins Honors

JCNThe Journal of Christian Nursing, published by Nurses Christian Fellowship, continues to attract recognition for its creative and attractive graphics.

For the fourth year in a row, JCN has been honored by its peers in the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE). In fact, in the 2018 competition, JCN won top honors for three entries:

1) Gold Award in the Best Overall Use of Graphics Category (October/December 2017 complete issue)

2) Gold Award in the Best Cover, Photo Category: Faith and Ethics, Covenant and Code (October/December 2017--pictured at left)

3) Gold Award in the Best Opening Page/Spread, Photo Category: The Pad Project: A Global Initiative Uniting Women (January/March 2017)

tweetThe Best Overall Use of Graphics was a new category, so JCN is the first Gold award winner in that category.

"Pray that God uses these awards to bring glory to himself; attention to JCN, NCF, and InterVarsity; and help us continue to reach more students and nurses with the good news of Christ," said Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner, the Editor-in-Chief of JCN, and National Director of Nurses Christian Fellowship.

"JCN has a long and strong track record of producing incredible journalism for the nursing profession," said Jason Thomas, Executive Vice President of InterVarsity Field Ministry. "It's great to see that even the graphics and visual design are top-notch."

Since 1984, JCN has provided a peer-reviewed, quarterly, professional journal to help nurses integrate issues of faith with nursing practice and sustain excellence in nursing care. The mission of JCN is to help nurses, students, and educators practice from a biblically-based, Christian perspective.

Nurses, nursing students and educators can receive JCN as a free member benefit when they join the national NCF professional organization.
