NCF at West Coast UniversityFor 3 weeks the new NCF group at West Coast University, Anaheim has been meeting and growing under the leadership of Jon-Erick Rodrigo.

NCF PinTake a close look at our NCF logo and you'll see what we care about most. The four hearts symbolize our four loves:

Mary ThompsonMary Thompson was the national director of NCF from 1984-2007, then she served in a fund development role with InterVarsity until June 30, 2011. Now Mary is the Minister of Congregational Care in her home church in Minneapolis, MN. We talked with Mary as she reflected on her 43 years of working tirelessly to promote the Christian values that lie at the heart of nursing.

NCF GroupI love the Journal of Christian Nursing because it's always inspiring, enlightening, and informative. It's a blessing to hear from other Christian nurses and I often wished there was an NCF group in my area of Wilmington, North Carolina. I felt God was calling me to form a chapter but wondered how I could I do that.

hands"Nursing has been discussing spiritual care as long as I can remember," says Verna Benner Carson. "Yet confusion remains regarding what spiritual care entails."

UphillFor many nursing graduates, it is an uphill journey as they finish school and take the next step(s). We asked some of our new graduates how we can pray for them. As partner in our mission, will you intercede for some of these needs? Thank you!

by Cindy Carter

Recently NCF Member Cindy Carter shared her thoughts and we're passing them along for your reflection on life's tragedies and God's purposes. Thanks, Cindy!

Today I was reading Proverbs 12 when verse 21 struck me: "No disaster overcomes the righteous, but the wicked are full of misery" (HCSB).

Veteran NCF staff Judy Shelly retired last year after 40 years of ministry with InterVarsity, but she still stays in touch with close friends who served on the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Council (MALC). These gifted and godly women were instrumental in developing the ministry of NCF by advising groups of students and RNs, encouraging and leading events, and encouraging one another.

irellaRecently an NCF member shared how God led her to care for a patient just diagnosed with cancer. Irielle was in the room when the doctor spoke briefly with the stunned patient, handed her a box of tissues, and left.
