Stories from Students

Nursing school is a fertile environment for a growing relationship with Jesus. This collection of campus stories from nursing students and NCF chapter leaders reveals faith lived out in the high-pressure atmosphere of academic, clinical and personal realities. See how God is working in students who will "be transformed . . . to transform nursing."

Experiencing God through NCF

BrookeBrooke DeMorat is a graduating senior who shared her story of transformation with junior nursing students who will lead the chapter in the fall. “My experience with NCF has truly been life changing, and I am so grateful that God called me to be a part of it! We have constantly seen just how great God is through his works. We saw a classmate come to know Christ, and we raised up future NCF leaders with a heart for God’s mission and spreading his Gospel.”

Joy in Serving God

PriscillaPriscilla Yeboah was born in Ghana, West Africa and moved to the U.S. when she was 11 years old. She says, "My faith grew through the experiences I had in college. I thank God for InterVarsity and NCF because it was another opportunity for God to increase my faith and ground me deeper in his Word." Priscilla loves nursing and wants to serve as a missionary nurse. For Priscilla, nursing is a calling and a career. Every day that she is with patients, she learns about being Christ’s servant.

Kick-Starting NCF Ministry

NCF bethanykubiasleader Bethany Kubias watched with joy as her NCF group grew from a handful of nursing students to more than 60 in the chapter at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. “NCF ministry excites me because of the endless ways God can work through me and other students,” Bethany said. “Our NCF group has commuters, traditional and non-traditional nursing students. We see genuine community forming among students from all levels and backgrounds.”

Now Hannah is equipping others to carry on the growing NCF ministry after she graduates from the nursing program.

Norman BisdaNorman Bisda is a student leader of the NCF chapter at the University of Central Florida. “As a group, we learn how important it is to have a relationship with God on a daily basis, how to strengthen and train each other, and how to spread the Word of God to everyone,” Norman said. Find out why Norman loves being a part of the NCF group at UCF.

Norman BisdaNursing was not Norman Bisda’s first choice of a major, but he overcame many obstacles and tenaciously fought his way into the nursing program at the University of Central Florida when God opened doors. Norman is a student leader of the NCF chapter at UCF.
