Plan Now for National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week 2016

National Nurses Week is around the corner, so start planning now to have a Bible discussion, brunch, banquet, prayer walk, or other special events to share God’s love with other nurses.

This year’s theme is Culture of Safety: It starts with YOU. Discuss with your group what event to host. Pray about what God will have you do as you consider a speaker, food, facility, and promotion. Will this be an event that is seeker-friendly? This is a great way to fulfill your group’s purpose of reaching out to others in the nursing community.

Check out the NCF ideas, resources and prayer guide for Nurses Week, especially the theme-related Bible discussion guide. Invite your friends and coworkers to examine what God’s Word says about safety in Psalm 91.

Whole Person CarePutting the Parts Together: Offering Whole Person Care

Do you have questions about how to integrate spiritual care into nursing practice? You are not alone. At the recent Urbana 15 conference, Jane Hall and Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner spoke on this topic. Listen to their seminar and discuss as a group at one of your meetings. Other healthcare seminars are available online as well.

Kathy Schoonover-ShoffnerMeet the New NCF Director

It’s a new era for Nurses Christian Fellowship! Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner, PhD, RN, will lead NCF ministry into the future as the National Director following Jane Hall’s retirement on June 30, 2016. Kathy has served as the editor of Journal of Christian Nursing for twelve years with decades of experience and expertise as a nurse, administrator, researcher and editor.

“God has given me a big vision for his transforming work among nurses, students and educators.” Kathy said. “But I can’t do this ministry alone. I need a support team to pray for me and give financially to my increased budget needs.” You can partner with what God is doing through NCF by joining Kathy’s support team with a one-time or ongoing gift. Please give to Kathy’s support.
