NCF Newsletter, Fall 2015

Dear NCF Partner,

A recent email from a nurse reminded me why our mission of developing Christ-centered nursing students is so important.

DianaDiana was very busy earning a post-graduate BSN when she heard that nursing students were meeting to pray and read scripture together. She made time to join them—and was hooked.

“I believe that spiritual encouragement and nurture must start at
the student level in order to ensure that professional nurses will be
spiritually ready for their work,”
Diana said.

Now Diana works at a faith-based hospital and openly prays with patients who request it. “I feel God wants me to ‘pay back’ some of that spiritual support I received while in school, so I became a member of NCF,” Diana said. “I wear my NCF pin proudly. When patients ask about it, I gladly share with them.”

Diana’s support for NCF campus ministry continues. “I saw on NCF Facebook that Krista Doan is preparing for new staff ministry at my school, so I reached out to her. I am eager to see how God leads her in nurturing another generation of student nurses.”

I am so grateful for Diana and how God is using her to influence her patients and her workplace for Christ.
Her story of being encouraged and equipped as a student in NCF is one that needs to be repeated in every nursing school. And her journey in nursing embodies our desire for students and nurses to “Be Transformed … Transform Nursing.”

As a new class of nursing students hits campus, we want to greet them with the love of Jesus! And we want nurses equipped to help their patients and co-workers engage with Christ.

Will you invest in God’s transforming presence in the lives of nurses and nursing students?

We thank God for your prayers and financial gifts. Your ongoing ministry partnership is critical for NCF as we continue to meet the needs of nursing students, nurses and the NCF staff who serve them.

NCF faces significant opportunities—and challenges—as a new year of ministry begins. Please read our Praise & Prayer Guide for more about what lies ahead and how you can pray.

May God’s Spirit strengthen you with power to know Christ and his great love for you!

In God’s love,

Jane
