Create a Vision for Your Group

What is your vision

What is your vision for reaching your classmates for Christ? What are the needs of your classmates? How can NCF make a difference? Find more resources to develop a vision.

Who can you share your vision with? Invite classmates, professors, or your clinical group to join you in this vision.

Your clinical group is your mission field! Learn where to start and how to have an impact. We challenge you to pray for your school of nursing, asking God for a BIG vision to reach your clinical classmates for Christ.

New Student Outreach (NSO) resources

One of the best ways to start reaching out to your classmates is through NSO. Here are some ideas to get you started.

NCF NSO Banner

• Visibly promote your NCF chapter using a table top display. NCF has two display options: one is solid (as shown) and one has a white space to write in additional information. Download the design. A local copy shop can print it on corrugated plastic or foam board with an easel back (18” x 24” is a good size). You can also order through an online vendor.
• Have students complete contact cards for easy follow up. Be intentional about contacting new people.
• Prepare NCF meeting information cards to hand out.

What are the next steps?
Set goals to achieve the vision, then plan to achieve the goals.

  • Let others know about the NCF meetings with posters or announcements via the school’s online mode.
  • Determine when and where to meet and what you’ll study.
  • Schedule an interest meeting for those who want to learn more about NCF before making a commitment.
  • Plan a fun event for early fall so people can invite friends and develop community.
  • Invite speakers, such as nurses who can share how they integrate their faith with their nursing practice.
  • Brainstorm ways to reach out to your classmates to meet their spiritual needs.

Chapter Recognition and Affiliation

Do you need to be a recognized student organization in order to advertise and meet on campus? NCF/InterVarsity has a constitution template for your group. Please use the Sample Constitution template document, which is easy to complete and turn in.

Chapter Affiliation is important! If your NCF chapter has previously affiliated, you simply complete the renewal application each year to show that the current leaders are in agreement with the Purpose and Doctrinal Basis of NCF and InterVarsity/USA. Please renew by using the Application for Chapter Affiliation. This should take about 5-10 minutes to do at one of your first meetings.

Not yet affiliated? If you have a constitution on file with the Student Activities office, please send us a copy with a completed Application for Chapter Affiliation to complete the process. If you need to submit a constitution to your Student Activities office, and Application for Chapter Affiliation. Contact Bonnie with any questions.
