A Sacred Influence

Courage and Calling -by Gordon T. SmithGordon T. Smith wisely noted in his article, Courage and Calling, "If a vocation represents a call of God to serve him in the world, then that vocation is sacred because it comes from God. It therefore makes no sense to speak of a secular vocation; such a phrase is a contradiction in terms. A vocation, because it comes from God, is sacred."

This view of work offers hope that God can and will be glorified in every sector of the world. From politics to stay-at-home parents, from churches to world relief operations, from military service to corporate employment, InterVarsity alumni are saying yes to serving God through their vocation – and making a difference in the world.

We think this article from InterVarsity's Alumni Ministry speaks to our vocation and calling as nurses.
