Nurses, nurse educators and NCF staff gathered in June for the Innovations in Faith-Based Nursing Conference at Indiana Wesleyan University. "The Lord enriched us through vibrant presentations and conversations about cultural competence, spiritual care and other topics that integrated faith and nursing." said Jane Hall, NCF Director. "One of the keynote speakers was Journal of Christian Nursing editor Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner who gave an excellent presentation on our Christian calling as nurses."
"We are so grateful for our mutually supportive relationship between NCF and our JCN publishers, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins," said Jane. Anne Dabrow Woods, the chief nursing editor at LWW, gave a keynote address on the future of nursing.
A morning devotional by Renee Lick, NCF Student Ministries Director, focused on spiritual eyesight from Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." The participants were asked to declare to the whole group what they were thankful for at the conference as a reminder to see God's faithfulness in new ways. The Lord's presence was evident throughout the event.
