Giving Spiritual Care on Empty

empty gauge"Can I Give Spiritual Care When My Spiritual Life Is in Shambles?" That's the question author Mary T. Sweat addresses in her recent article for the Journal of Christian Nursing.

"When our spiritual life is a mess we may feel we can't give spiritual care because we feel empty, strung out, and vulnerable," Mary says. "Sometimes we forget who we are, and who God is. It is God who ultimately provides spiritual care."

We can provide spiritual care when our own spiritual life is in shambles, if we are willing to admit our humanness, be true to God and to who we are, and use our story as an instrument of healing," Mary writes.
