Hydro-electric powerNurses know the five rights of medication administration: the right patient, right med, right dose, right route, and right time/frequency. Nurses also check that medications don’t expire and lose effectiveness and potency over time.

EternalI was in the health & beauty section of a store recently, staring at all the shelves filled with anti-aging creams and high-energy products. We are obsessed with slowing down the aging effects of time on our bodies or speeding up our productivity. Everything we do is connected to time: past, present, or future.

Space NeedleOn most postcards of Seattle you’ll see the Space Needle, built for the 1962 World’s Fair. I’ve been up high in the Space Needle several times, and people on the ground below look quite small and far away! On days when the fog and mist are dense around the observation deck, you can feel like you’re in the clouds -- far, far above life below.

NewbornI grew up with puppies, ponies, ducklings, chicks, kitties, and bunnies in our large backyard. CandleOn behalf our entire NCF staff team, I want to wish you a blessed Christmas and a fruitful, joy-filled 2014!

newbornAfter my first year of college I worked as a nursing assistant on a postpartum unit. I had a two-week orientation and then off I went to help the new mothers. I’m not sure how much help I was at first because I had much to learn.

FireHow do we begin to understand God’s holiness? According to A.W. Tozer, we are the total opposite of holy; we are vile.

the seed within usLast month I wrote that God is near to everyone, everything and everywhere; he is omnipresent. But there is an added dimension to the “everywhereness” of God.  He not only contains everything, he also penetrates everything to its deepest core.

Years ago my daughter had a computer game called “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?”  It tested our knowledge of geography, the locations of natural and man-made wonders, and a lot of world trivia. We loved it, but we didn’t get many answers right!
